Zephyr Rossignol
TOPOMESH – Petrin
Grasshopper / Rhino
Before to start you have to instal this plugin: Weaverbird by Giulio Piacentino
The first step was to create (on rhino) some curves which follow the topography
to have a base for grasshopper
The second step concist to divide de curves and add the dots (21 here) with the tool: divide curves. After we use Delaunay Edges to generate diffent lines between the curves to create a network. But there will be some mistake then we follow the next step to correct them (Delaunay –> Lenght –>Smaller Than 20.16 and Bounds –> Dispatch –> Final lines) .
For this step we build the pipeline with Mesh Pipe and Mesh Join that we connect to the line
(and we adapt the parameter of the mesh pipe)
We have the principal structure then we will use Weavervird from lines and Mesh explode and Deconstruct mesh to generate surface (without preview) that follow our structure.
Now, we have to find the center of each triangle to put the future cylinder (following the shape of the strcuture). (Deconstruct mesh –> Average –> Surface Closest Point –> Evaluate Surface).
The last step consist to produce the cylinder connected at each points between the pipeline and create an attractor point to have various cylinder (Average –> Vector 2 points: an attractor point on the top of the hill –> Multiplication –> Multiplication :to get various cylinder)
the final model on rhino
Unreal Engine,
After grasshopper we import (At the bottom left) the model (.obj like format) in Unreal Engine, after we change the position of the wall and put a ceilling).
At right we have the different object and we have the possibility to change the color and the material of them and at the end we have just to save the file to enjoy of the virtual reality final poster
